Nick Woltemade spared Juventus another defeat in the Europa League. In Thursday evening's 2-2 draw with Stade Rennes in Turin, the Germany striker was involved in both goals. Within the first few minutes he drove a counter-attack forward and set up the overlapping Zeki Çelik for 1-0.

Rennes turned the game around before half-time: Mousa Al-Tamari equalised and a handball penalty put the French side 2-1 up. In the 67th minute Woltemade scored from the spot himself after a Rennes defender had handled in the box. A late goal by Juve's Jhon Lucumí was ruled out for offside.

Juventus have seven points after three matchdays of the league phase. Woltemade has been on loan at Juventus from Newcastle United since early September. Germany's next internationals are on 13 and 16 November.
