Christian Mbilli has responded to Osleys Iglesias' call-out. "I'm down for any big fight once the Canelo chapter is done," the unbeaten WBC super-middleweight champion told Boxing News in an exclusive interview. An undisputed clash with Iglesias "would be the dream fight for a lot of people", he said.
After stopping Oliver Zaren in the seventh round, Iglesias had said: "I hope the winner [of Canelo-Mbilli] faces me. I'd like my next fight to be a unification." According to Boxing News, Mbilli would only consider that after any Canelo rematch. Both fighters are promoted by Eye of the Tiger Promotions.
First, Mbilli defends his title against Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez in Riyadh on October 31, live on DAZN pay-per-view. In a DAZN video, Mbilli explains what beating Álvarez would mean for his standing in the division.
