Bournemouth made club history under German coach Marco Rose on Thursday night, beating Austria's Sturm Graz 3-0 in their first-ever home match in European competition. Evanilson headed in Adam Smith's cross just before halftime, Rayan doubled the lead in the 76th minute after a mistake by goalkeeper Daniil Khudyakov, and Álvaro Rodríguez converted a stoppage-time penalty.
The Europa League newcomers have now won both of their games after opening with a 2-1 victory at Real Sociedad. "A deserved win and now we have to continue and get consistent in this kind of thing," Rose told Sky Sports, adding that he believes in his team despite a difficult spell.
The win followed a Premier League loss to Chelsea last weekend, with Bournemouth having struggled to hold leads in recent league games. They face Sunderland on Sunday before hosting AC Milan next Thursday.
