Xpeng has set an ambitious goal for Europe. By 2030, the Chinese electric carmaker wants to deliver 1 million vehicles a year, about half of them in Europe. CEO He Xiaopeng told Bloomberg at the Paris Motor Show on Monday, Elektroauto-News and InsideEVs reported. At 500,000 cars, Xpeng would be ahead of Ford, which delivered more than 426,000 vehicles in Europe in 2025 according to Bloomberg, and Opel with about 400,000 registrations. Since entering Europe via Norway in 2020, Xpeng has delivered more than 60,000 cars there.
Production is the bottleneck. Since September 2025, Magna has built the G6, G9 and P7+ for Xpeng in Graz, Austria, and trial production of the G9L ran there on Oct. 7. Austrian volume “is not even sufficient,” vice president Yeqing Zheng told Reuters. A new line for mid-level models with a lower cost base is planned with a local partner and should start by the time EU “Made in Europe” local-content rules apply; a decision is expected within months. Zheng said finding a battery supplier that meets Xpeng's charging needs is “challenging.”
In September, Xpeng sold 10,055 cars outside China, about twice as many as a year earlier and its first month above 10,000, according to Elektroauto-News. Overseas sales from January to September were about 59,500. Total deliveries in the same period, however, fell 9.2% to about 284,400.
