The power metal band's new album is out on 16 October. metal.de gives it 7 out of 10: strong keyboards, but too much self-quotation.

Power metal band Gloryhammer release 'Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath' on 16 October via Napalm Records. The eleven songs continue the science-fiction saga of the 2015 album 'Space 1992'; the band produced it themselves and Jacob Hansen mixed it. The animated video for 'Starfighters Of Leuchars' came out on 15 October.
German magazine metal.de gives the album 7 out of 10. Opener 'Ultimate Sacrifice' is an unusually tame mid-tempo anthem, while 'Die With A Sword In My Hand' is a high-speed highlight. However, 'Starfighters Of Leuchars', 'Warriors Of Auchtermuchty' and 'Pax Galactica' sound too alike and lean on earlier songs.
According to the review, keyboards and orchestra remain strong, but singer Sozos Michael sounds tamer than on 'Return To The Kingdom Of Fife'. The long closing epic revives the album but does not match earlier epics. Verdict: the band play it too safe, and three or four strong songs carry the score.
