Canadian AI developer Cohere plans to acquire AISLE, a startup that uses autonomous AI systems to find previously unknown security vulnerabilities in software, Reuters reported. Cohere has signed a letter of intent; terms were not disclosed, and no timeline for closing the deal was given.

AISLE was founded in 2025 by former Avast CEO Ondrej Vlcek, with co-founders from Google DeepMind and Anthropic. The company says its system found more than 500 previously unknown vulnerabilities across more than 100 codebases in its first year, including all twelve flaws in OpenSSL's January release and 18 of the 24 CVEs in curl's latest release. Project maintainers independently review the findings.

According to Reuters, the deal would add cybersecurity to the group Cohere is forming through its merger with Germany's Aleph Alpha and expand its European footprint via AISLE's engineering hub in Prague. Cohere says it wants to bring security research closer to the training of its AI models.
