Blondie have announced their first studio album in nine years. 'High Noon' is the New York band's twelfth record and will be released on 26 February 2027 via BMG. The first taste is opening track 'Spectral Eyes' – a song written by Johnny Marr, who had already released it as a solo track in 2018. The album contains 13 songs and had been hinted at repeatedly since 2024.
Former Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock and Johnny Marr on guitar both feature on 'Spectral Eyes', and both are said to appear on other tracks as well. Zach Condon (Beirut) and Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig (Lucius) also guest. Of the original line-up, only singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein remain active. Drummer Clem Burke, who died in 2025, played on 'High Noon' – work on it began in 2022. The album therefore contains his final recordings.
According to VISIONS, Debbie Harry describes the record as a fusion of all the band's different influences and eras into something new, mixing punk, dance and Latin American rhythms. The album is accompanied by a short film conceived by long-time creative partner Rob Roth. No tour dates have been announced so far.
