Wardley: trainer Davison gives Joshua “inside knowledge” on Fury
Fabio Wardley believes Anthony Joshua is right to work with Ben Davison, the trainer who used to coach Tyson Fury. George Groves agrees.

Ben Davison will be in Anthony Joshua's corner in Cardiff on December 11 – and knows the opponent from their past work together. Fabio Wardley sees an advantage: “There will be some inside knowledge, however applicable that is and however it's used in the fight, maybe, maybe not,” he told Sky Sports, calling the trainer “a huge factor”. At the same time: “You play to their strengths, not to the opponent's weaknesses.”
Fury had called Davison a “traitor”, according to Sky Sports. Former world champion George Groves disagreed: “I'd imagine Fury left Davison rather than the other way round.” Sometimes in a crisis you want “a familiar voice”, he said – “It's probably the right move.”
Wardley himself faces Daniel Dubois in a WBO title rematch at London's O2 on Saturday. Joshua had recently also worked with Oleksandr Usyk's training team, Sky Sports reported. In the video, Davison gives his own thoughts on Fury vs Joshua.
