Rockstar Games is planning the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 6 for the first quarter of 2027, meaning by the end of March at the latest, according to a report by US industry outlet GamesBeat. The outlet cites four people familiar with the plans who asked to remain anonymous. There is no confirmation from Rockstar or parent company Take-Two; the report remains unverified.
GTA 6 launches on 19 November for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. If the report is accurate, PC players would wait about four months at most. For comparison, GTA 5 reached PC a year and seven months after its console launch, and GTA 4 after around seven months.
Former Rockstar producer John Ricchio said on the Kiwi Talkz podcast, according to VGC, that the console-first approach is about resource management rather than being anti-PC: developers first learn the hardware’s limits instead of porting a PC version down to weaker devices later.
