Bulgaria has begun preparations to host a UN Tourism forum on cultural tourism and education. Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov proposed holding it in the Rose Valley in late May 2027 with UNESCO's support, the BTA news agency reported. He made the proposal at a Europe-Asia tourism forum in Podgorica, where he also met UN Tourism Secretary-General Shaikha Al Nuwais.

The program could include the Rose Museum in Kazanlak, a presentation of rose oil production, the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Valley of the Thracian Kings. "Our international guests will experience the magic of the rose harvest," Dimitrov said. He also presented a new observatory for the quality and sustainability of tourism products that will analyze data by destination.
