U.S. rapper Doechii has released a new song, Bombs. The roughly 90-second track over a fast electronic beat revives her Swamp Sessions series of short rap tracks and freestyles, which in 2024 produced cuts such as Nissan Altima and Catfish. The 28-year-old directed the music video herself, according to Eventim's magazine.
She also announced her debut album, which she said will take her music in new directions, but gave no release date. In a handwritten Instagram post, she named freedom and integration as the themes of the new chapter and said she wanted to see Black womanhood at the center of hip-hop and pop.
Doechii won the Grammy for best rap album in 2025 for her mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal. In April she released Runway with Lady Gaga for the soundtrack of The Devil Wears Prada 2. Doja Cat backed the new track on X, urging anyone who cares about rap or hip-hop to listen to Bombs.
