New White House press secretary Katie Zacharia held her first briefing on Tuesday. A conservative commentator and former communications adviser at Trump Media & Technology Group, she replaces Karoline Leavitt, who left in August. Roughly half the briefing was spent reading out the president's achievements, including upcoming campaign trips to Alaska, Arizona and Montana, AP reported. "He is an energetic president," she said. She took questions from three reporters and ended the briefing after about 15 minutes.

The first question went to Breitbart News, which occupies the "new media" seat created under her predecessor. Zacharia said the White House would keep the seat and expand it where possible. She confirmed the White House had asked Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle to resign following criticism of her alleged improper and possibly illegal conduct. Zacharia said her job is to amplify Trump's agenda and that the president is "his own best spokesperson."
