Trump rallies for Sen. Sullivan in Alaska: 'Wait until you see what we do to Iran'
In Wasilla, the president backed Republicans Dan Sullivan and Nick Begich. His visit is seen as a sign of how close the state's Senate race may be.

President Donald Trump rallied on Tuesday in Wasilla, about 45 miles north of Anchorage, for Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan, who is seeking a third term. His opponent is Democrat Mary Peltola, a former congresswoman. "I would only do it if I thought he was good. And he's very good," Trump said, according to AP. Referring to the Iran war, he said, "Wait until you see what we do to Iran," the Times of Israel reported. Trump also backed Rep. Nick Begich, who faces independent Bill Hill.
Democrats last won an Alaska Senate seat in 2008. Pollster Ivan Moore says Trump's support in the state has declined, mirroring his national ratings; AP cited high gas prices tied to the Iran war and elevated inflation. About 100 people protested high fuel prices in Anchorage, Alaska Public Media reported. Trump holds rallies in Arizona and Montana on Wednesday ahead of the Nov. 3 election.
