Traffic on a 320-metre section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse will be limited to one lane for two weeks, with work carried out only Monday to Thursday. Vehicles will be let through in alternating directions every 20 minutes, directed by flaggers. The first stage runs from 9 a.m. on Oct. 19 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 22 with the right lane closed; the second runs from Oct. 26 to 29 with the left lane closed.
Crews will install drainage elements at the expansion joints as part of the bridge's main renovation. The deck surface was renewed and traffic restored in June, and work since then on the substructure has not affected traffic. The schedule may shift in bad weather. The main renovation is due to be completed by Dec. 3, 2026.
