Bulgarian exchange power 4.49% cheaper on Wednesday at €214.50/MWh
The IBEX average price for 14 October is €214.50 per megawatt-hour excluding VAT. Peak hours fall by 5.52%, while traded volume rises to 102,179.20 MWh.
On the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX), producers, traders and large consumers buy and sell electricity. On the day-ahead market, the price for every hour is set in an auction the day before. For Wednesday 14 October, the average price across the whole day (base) is €214.50 per megawatt-hour excluding VAT – 4.49% less than on Tuesday (€224.59). It is the second daily decline in a row.
During peak hours (9:00 to 20:00), when factories and offices are working, a megawatt-hour costs €217.24 on average – 5.52% less than Tuesday's €229.93. In the remaining hours (off-peak, 1:00–8:00 and 21:00–24:00) it costs €211.75, down 3.43%. The gap between day and night narrows to €5.49, from €10.67 on Tuesday.
Traded volume is 102,179.20 MWh, about 8.28% more than on Tuesday (94,361.60). Of this, 54,281.35 MWh falls in peak hours and 47,897.85 MWh in the remaining hours. Prices for Thursday 15 October will be published this afternoon.
