Guillermo del Toro wants to shoot a drama in his native Mexico. "I want to make it a drama. I don't want to make it a fantasy movie," the director told the Los Angeles Times. "It's a kidnapping scene from three points of view": the victim's, that of the people doing the pickup, and another component he does not want to reveal yet.
According to World of Reel, it would be del Toro's first Spanish-language film since 'Pan's Labyrinth'. There is no timeline; for now it is only an idea. Del Toro is currently working on the animated film 'The Buried Giant' for Netflix, World of Reel reports.
The interview marked the 20th anniversary of 'Pan's Labyrinth'. The film is returning to US cinemas in a new 4K restoration, including in 3D, coinciding with del Toro's 62nd birthday on October 9.
