Planning for a large offshore wind farm is moving forward in Britain. The planned Morven wind farm would be able to supply enough electricity for three million homes a year. The power is to be brought ashore on the coast of County Durham in north-east England. The wind farm is to be connected to the National Grid network near Seaham.
A new round of public consultation began on Tuesday, 6 October, the regional newspaper The Northern Echo reported. The results are to inform a formal planning application, which is due to be submitted later. The report gave no precise timetable for construction and commissioning.
