Bulgarian exchange power 4.06% cheaper on Saturday at €231.68/MWh
The IBEX average price for 10 October is €231.68 per megawatt-hour. Daytime hours fall the most, and traded volume drops by more than 14%.
The Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) is a marketplace where producers and traders buy and sell electricity. On the day-ahead market, the price for each day is set in an auction the day before. For Saturday 10 October, the average (base) price is €231.68 per megawatt-hour excluding VAT – 4.06% less than on Friday (€241.49).
Peak hours (9:00 to 20:00) fall the most: €205.68 on average, down 7.36%. In the remaining hours (1:00–8:00 and 21:00–24:00) a megawatt-hour costs €257.67, down 1.26%. Night and evening thus stay about €52 dearer than daytime.
Traded volume is 77,655.25 MWh, 14.33% less than on Friday (90,649.45). On Saturdays many factories and offices are closed, so demand is usually lower. Prices for Sunday 11 October will be published this afternoon.
