Inflation in Mexico accelerated in September. Consumer prices were 3.45 percent higher than a year earlier, after 3.26 percent in August. Analysts had expected 3.47 percent, so the rise was slightly weaker than forecast.
Core inflation, which strips out the most volatile prices, moved in the opposite direction. It fell from 3.88 to 3.75 percent. Economists had expected 3.79 percent, so this figure was also slightly below forecast.
