After a short teaser earlier this week, the first full trailer for 'The Exorcist: Martyrs' is here. Writer-director Mike Flanagan presented it with cast member Chiwetel Ejiofor at the Blumhouse panel at New York Comic Con. The film is being made for Universal and Blumhouse.
Scarlett Johansson plays New York homicide detective Julie Miller. The trailer shows gruesome murders in a church, and the detective begins to wonder whether earlier killers' claims of Satanic possession might have some truth to them. John Leguizamo, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Sasha Calle and Jacobi Jupe also star.
"This movie is unlike any other 'Exorcist' movie that's ever been made," Flanagan said on the panel, according to Variety. The film opens in US cinemas on March 12, 2027, and in Germany a day earlier, according to Filmstarts.
