Israel Adesanya says he has signed the contracts for his next fight. “We just signed the contract yesterday,” the former middleweight champion said on the Precision Podcast with Demetrious Johnson, as reported by Sherdog and MixedMartialArts.com on Wednesday. He did not name an opponent but promised: “There will be blood in the sand, and it's not going to be me.”
According to Sherdog, Adesanya has been linked to Sharabutdin Magomedov for December 5, when a UFC Fight Night is scheduled in Riyadh. The UFC has not officially confirmed the bout.
The New Zealander has lost four in a row: to Sean Strickland, Dricus du Plessis, Nassourdine Imavov and, in March 2026 in Seattle, Joe Pyfer. His last win was the knockout of Alex Pereira at UFC 287 in April 2023. “The last three years have just not been fun,” he said. According to MixedMartialArts.com, he split from his longtime gym City Kickboxing in July.
