Watch magazine Hodinkee has released a new episode of its video series "Talking Watches". Host Ben Clymer welcomes Eric Wind and Charlie Dunne, who present their personal collections. Wind Vintage says it is the first episode of the series with two guests. The focus is on how a passion for watches can be learned, sharpened and passed along.
Both guests come from the vintage watch trade. Eric Wind founded Wind Vintage in 2017; before that he was Vice President and Senior Specialist at the auction house Christie's. He has written for Hodinkee since 2010, on topics such as the watches of US presidents and the history of the Heuer Carrera, and lives in Palm Beach, Florida. Charlie Dunne is Vice President and Senior Watch Specialist at Wind Vintage, where he leads content. According to Wind Vintage, watches connect both collectors to the past.
The episode arrives a few weeks before a joint book by the two: "Vintage Watches", written with Michael B. Dougherty, will be published by Ten Speed Press on 17 November 2026, according to Penguin Random House. Across 320 pages and more than 250 photographs, it covers the history and culture of well-known models – from Rolex sports watches and Patek Philippe complications to the Omega Speedmaster and Audemars Piguet – along with collectors' essays and chapters on patina and collector culture.
