Leading Republicans are demanding answers over this week's slowdown of Starlink satellite internet in Ukraine, which affected the use of drones. Secretary of State Marco Rubio had said nobody ordered it: "We had nothing to do with that" and "It sort of happened", adding that his understanding was it had been restored. Asked on CBS whether that was sufficient, Ohio Rep. Mike Turner replied: "Absolutely not."

Turner called for a congressional investigation, saying lives were at risk. North Dakota Sen. Kevin Cramer said it "may very well have been some sort of a technical glitch" but that he supports investigating who made the call. Cramer relayed a request from President Zelenskyy for access to targeting capabilities, in return for which Kyiv would stop attacking Russian energy facilities. There is no deal yet on expanding the military Starshield system.

Both Republicans also criticised President Donald Trump's pause of sanctions on Russia. "Capitulating to a bully generally means you're going to make more demands going forward," Cramer said, adding that he expected and hoped it would be a short-term pause. Turner urged keeping Senator Lindsey Graham's sanctions law in place.
