Google is rolling out its "AI Inbox" feature in Gmail to paying Google Workspace customers. The Gemini-powered view has two parts: "Suggested to-dos" pulls out action items, deliverables and deadlines from email threads, while "Topics to catch up on" summarises discussions across several messages so users can quickly review decisions and status changes. The feature only draws on the Primary inbox and is labelled beta.
For Rapid Release domains, the rollout began on 12 October; Scheduled Release domains follow from 26 October, and in each case it can take up to 15 days for the feature to appear. Eligible plans include the Business and Enterprise editions as well as Frontline Plus and AI Pro for Education. According to Technobezz, administrators cannot control the feature.
Gmail Live launched in parallel on 15 October: in the Android and iOS apps, users can ask their inbox questions aloud and hear a spoken answer, with a card listing the cited emails. Both features are limited for now to users in the US with English (US) as their language. Google unveiled AI Inbox in January and Gmail Live in May.
