A Lebanese military delegation will take part in a trilateral meeting with Israel and the United States in Tampa, Florida, on Tuesday, Oct. 20, the Lebanese presidency said on X on Saturday. The delegation will present Beirut's demand for an end to Israeli attacks in Lebanon, the presidency said.
President Joseph Aoun accused Israel of continuing strikes in the south, demolishing homes and keeping farmers from their land in breach of the US-brokered framework agreement, TRT World reported. As long as Israel occupies territory, the Lebanese army cannot deploy to the border as envisaged by UN Security Council Resolution 1701, he said.
Israel and Hezbollah have been at war again since March 2, 2026. Under the agreement, Beirut is to disarm the group while Israeli troops gradually withdraw. Hezbollah has refused to disarm as long as Israeli forces remain in Lebanon, Reuters reported.
