Chinese AI developer DeepSeek on Saturday released an updated version of its V4.1 Flash model. DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017 is now live on the company's website, app and API, according to its changelog, with API access and pricing unchanged. The model's weights are available on Hugging Face, according to Startup Fortune.
DeepSeek said the model improves on several benchmarks, scoring 77.0 on the DeepSWE v1.1 coding test, and completes tasks faster with shorter outputs, cutting costs. The figures have not been independently verified.
The company is also opening its in-house search engine to developers. DeepSeek says it indexes hundreds of billions of web pages and filters out spam and low-quality AI-generated content. The search and fetch APIs cost $0.75 per 1,000 calls, according to Tech Insider, with billing set to begin Oct. 31.
