Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has improved its full-year outlook after a surprisingly lucrative quarter. Higher margins and risks that did not materialise are expected to leave a larger share of revenue as operating profit, financial news agency dpa-AFX reported. The company published the announcement on Thursday evening after the stock market closed.

Investors reacted strongly: Nordex shares jumped almost 15 percent on Friday morning. The wind industry is seen as a key element of the energy transition in Germany and Europe, but in recent years many manufacturers have been under pressure from high costs and thin margins. The dpa-AFX overview gave no further details on revenue and earnings.
