Fashion brand Acne Studios unveiled a collaboration with British-Cypriot designer Hussein Chalayan on 14 October. The capsule comprises twelve pieces in denim, jersey and leather and draws on three early Chalayan collections: “Ventriloquy” (spring/summer 2001), “Medea” (2002) and “Manifest Destiny” (2003). It includes patchworked jeans in Acne's 1996 and 2009 fits, a twisted jean with a trompe-l'œil python print, a denim shirt, an asymmetric denim vest, a dress and a reworked “Camero” bag in patchworked leather.

“The Acne Studios team belongs to a different generation,” Chalayan told nss magazine, which he said brought a fresh take on his creative language. Some ideas, he added, “can continue to resonate and evolve beyond their original context.” The campaign was shot at London's V&A East Storehouse alongside archival Chalayan pieces including the 2011 Tulle Dress and the Haiku Dress from the Sakoko collection for spring/summer 2011.

It is accompanied by the book “Reference: Hussein Chalayan”, a limited edition of 1,000 copies curated by Charlene Prempeh, with archival illustrations, photographs and texts. The collection will be available online and at selected Acne Studios stores. No release date was given.
