Napoli return to Serie A action on Saturday after a 3-1 Champions League defeat at Villarreal. Massimiliano Allegri's side visit Venezia at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo at 1500 local time in the seventh round. Napoli are eighth with 10 points from six games, and Allegri was due to speak to reporters at midday on Friday.

David Neres will miss the game. Napoli said the Brazilian sustained a low-grade injury to the semimembranosus muscle of his right thigh against Villarreal and has already begun rehabilitation. The club did not give a timeframe for his return.

Venezia are bottom without a point after losing all six games. New coach Davide Nicola takes charge for the first time. Italian media reported he could be without captain Gianluca Busio, Thierry Correia, Armel Bella-Kotchap and Pasquale Mazzocchi.
