At Bayern Munich's news conference ahead of Saturday's top game against RB Leipzig (6:30 p.m. CEST, Sky), sporting director Max Eberl did not confirm reports of an agreement with Harry Kane. According to dpa, Sky and Bild reported that the striker had agreed a contract with the club through 2029. Kane's current deal expires in the summer of 2027. "They are good talks. We are hopeful, but there is nothing to announce yet," Eberl said, according to dpa.

Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023 for around 100 million euros. According to dpa, he has now scored 101 Bundesliga goals and has scored in each of his last nine Champions League matches.

The club considers the case of Michael Olise closed. He was sent off for a second yellow card in the 3-3 draw in Stavanger and will miss the Arsenal game. "We discussed it internally and concluded it. That settles the matter for us," Eberl said. He left open whether Olise would be fined. Coach Vincent Kompany said Manuel Neuer, who did not train on Thursday, had a problem "in the foot" and that it would "not take that long."
