Olympique Lyon beat Crystal Palace 3-2 in the second round of the Europa League league phase. Corentin Tolisso (8th minute) and Ernest Nuamah (45+2) gave Lyon a 2-0 halftime lead at Parc OL, and Palace failed to register a shot on target in the first half, according to Sky Sports. Yéremy Pino pulled one back after the break before Pavel Sulc deflected a shot from Keito Nakamura in for 3-1. Daichi Kamada scored in the 81st minute to make it 3-2.

For Palace coach Pierre Sage, who managed Lyon from November 2023 to January 2025, his return ended in defeat. "We were nowhere near our usual standards in the first half," he told Sky Sports.

Lyon coach Paulo Fonseca was pleased. "I think we totally deserved to win the match," he said. After a 2-1 win at Anderlecht in their opener, Lyon now have six points. Palace play at Brighton in the Premier League on Sunday.
