'Steps': Netflix tells Cinderella from the stepsister's point of view

Netflix has released the full trailer for 'Steps', an animated comedy that retells the Cinderella fairy tale from the point of view of misunderstood stepsister Lilith (voiced by Ali Wong). She accidentally turns her other stepsister Margot (Stephanie Hsu) into a frog, after which the mean Priscilla (Nikki Glaser) takes over the kingdom. Together with a troll, the sisters set out to save it.

Amanda Seyfried voices Cinderella and Bette Midler the Fairy Godmother; the cast also includes Daniel Radcliffe, Peter Dinklage and Young Mazino. Alyce Tzue and John Ripa direct, Amy Poehler, Jane Hartwell and Kim Lessing produce, and Kris Bowers wrote the score. According to Dark Horizons, the film was animated at Netflix Animation Studios' own facilities in Los Angeles, Sydney and Vancouver.

'Steps' streams on Netflix from 20 November 2026. Netflix had already shown a first trailer in September.
