AS Roma will be without midfielder Manu Kone and forward Paulo Dybala for Saturday night's Serie A home game against Genoa after both were hurt in the 4-3 Champions League defeat by Real Madrid. Scans showed a first-degree muscle injury for Kone and calf fatigue for Dybala, coach Gian Piero Gasperini said on Friday.
Gasperini said he hoped to get Kone back before the international break, adding the injury was not particularly significant. Dybala could return as early as next week, he said. Kone went off after about 15 minutes against Real, while Dybala was substituted at half-time.
Striker Donyell Malen is also suspended after his red card against Como. Gasperini said Castro would replace him and was "definitely ready". With three games in seven days, Roma are short of options: Gasperini said he had "really few substitutes."
