Underwear and loungewear brand Skims has opened three more stores in the US. According to Hoodline, a store of almost 4,000 square feet appears to have opened quietly on 9 October at The Shops at La Cantera in San Antonio, without official confirmation. Reports on 15 and 16 October added the brand's first Utah store at City Creek Center in Salt Lake City and a location at The Americana at Brand in Glendale, California.
The pace reflects a strategy: co-founder and CEO Jens Grede plans 55 stores by the end of 2026 and more than 100 by the end of 2027, according to a WWD report cited by Hoodline. His reasoning is that eighty percent of the category is bought in physical retail. Natalie Watson, City Creek Center's director of marketing, spoke of tremendous consumer awareness and excitement around the brand's arrival, Hoodline reports.
The joint label NikeSkims is also betting on physical spaces: in Tokyo, a pop-up in the Jingumae district designed by Harry Nuriev of Crosby Studios shows the autumn/winter collection until 3 November. In Shanghai, NikeSkims' first retail space in mainland China opened at HKRI Taikoo Hui on 29 September and will remain until February 2027.
