Glass that refracts the flame: Byredo and Iittala bring 'Ljus' to stores
The Swedish fragrance brand and the Finnish glassmaker have designed candle stands, light refractors and scent vessels together. The limited collection has been available since October.

Swedish fragrance brand Byredo and Finnish glassmaker Iittala have launched their joint collection 'Ljus' worldwide. The limited series of handcrafted glass objects is designed for Byredo candles and incense and is made at Iittala's historic glass factory in Finland. It made its conceptual debut at the Matter and Shape fair in Paris in March 2026.
According to Wallpaper*, the collection comprises a candle stand, an ornament that sits on a candle and refracts its flame, a light refractor that encases the candle, a fragrance diffuser vessel and an incense holder. 'Lighting a candle is a beautiful, meditative moment,' said Iittala creative director Janni Vepsäläinen.
'Ljus' has been available since October 2026 through Byredo and selected Iittala stores. A video on the collection can be seen on Iittala's YouTube channel.
