Bugatti has brought one of the rarest Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse models back to its plant in Molsheim, France, for a refresh. The one-off, chassis number 8.100, has an unpainted body of polished aluminum. The company said Oct. 15 that the car was certified under its La Maison Pur Sang program and that later personalization elements were removed to restore the original design.
Bugatti says aluminum blocks weighing up to 20 tons were delivered to Molsheim to build the car. The interior pairs Carmine Red leather with exposed carbon fiber and metal accents. The roadster is powered by an 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 rated by the manufacturer at 1,200 PS and 1,500 Nm.
The car originally left Molsheim and returned more than a decade later. Bugatti says it now belongs to an unnamed collector on the French Riviera. “Every BUGATTI tells a story, but some hold a particularly special place within the marque's history,” said Luigi Galli, Bugatti's heritage and certification expert.
