Mercedes-AMG unveiled the GT SUV in Affalterbach on Oct. 17. The performance brand's full-size SUV is fully electric and comes in three versions. The top GT 63 produces 860 kW (1,169 PS) and 2,000 Nm according to the company, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds. The GT 55 makes 600 kW (816 PS) and the GT 53 400 kW (544 PS).
Net battery capacity is 106 or 128 kWh depending on the version, with WLTP range of up to 700 kilometers. With the larger battery, Mercedes says charging power reaches up to 710 kW, from 10% to 80% in about 12 minutes. According to Electrek, the SUV uses the AMG.EA electric platform of the GT 4-Door Coupe, with three axial-flux motors in the more powerful versions; the GT 63 weighs 2,695 kilograms.
The GT 53 starts at 113,050 euros in Germany and can be ordered from Oct. 20, with the GT 55 and GT 63 following in spring 2027. “SUV by shape. GT by nature,” said Mercedes-AMG Chairman Stefan Weckbach. Chief technology officer Jörg Burzer said electric performance today no longer requires “any compromises” in sustained power, range or charging speed.
