Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova is on a working visit to Berlin on Wednesday to meet her German counterpart Johann Wadephul, Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday, according to the BTA news agency. The talks are to focus on bilateral relations and current international and European issues, including Black Sea security, connectivity and EU enlargement.

The two ministers are scheduled to hold a joint news conference after their meeting. The visit comes amid renewed drone attacks on merchant ships off Bulgaria's coast. It is Petrova's second trip to Germany as foreign minister; she first visited on May 18, 2026, as part of a delegation led by Prime Minister Rumen Radev.
