Zheng Qinwen has won the China Open in Beijing. The wildcard entrant beat fourth seed Mirra Andreeva 7-5, 6-4 in Sunday's final after 1 hour 43 minutes. According to the WTA, she is the first Chinese woman to win the WTA 1000 event in Beijing. It is her first title at that level, the sixth of her career and her first since Tokyo in late 2024.
Zheng saved three set points in the opening set. According to Sofascore she converted four break points in total, Andreeva two. The former world No. 4 had struggled for form after elbow surgery in 2025, AFP reported; in mid-June she was ranked only 160th, according to the WTA.
It was Andreeva's fifth final of the year. The Russian, whose 2026 titles include the French Open, is still projected by the WTA to rise to No. 3 in the rankings on Monday. The champion receives 1,000 ranking points, the runner-up 650.
