GERB leader Boyko Borissov sharply criticised Rumen Radev's cabinet in Vratsa, where he attended the party's "New Minds" national academy. "Under Radev they are the kings of excuses, someone else is always to blame," he said. His target was fuel prices, which he said were rising inexplicably.
Borissov said petrol now costs EUR 1.94 a litre and diesel more than EUR 2, compared with about BGN 1.80 a litre when he was in government – roughly double. In his view, developments in the Strait of Hormuz do not affect prices in Bulgaria. "The refinery is state-owned," he added.
The former prime minister also said attacks on ships in the Black Sea had severely damaged tourism on the coast. On the 25 October presidential election, he said none of the candidates could unite the nation because all are strongly partisan.
