Ahead of Saturday's WBO heavyweight title rematch at London's O2, Fabio Wardley's manager Michael Ofo has called for a stronger referee. “We don't want it to be spoiled by having the same antics that were displayed in the first fight,” he told Sky Sports, adding: “There should be a punishment if you're not hurt and you take a knee.” Dubois won in May in Manchester in the 11th round after getting up from the canvas twice himself.

Dubois' trainer Don Charles spoke of “insecurity and weakness” and called the first fight's referee, Howard Foster, “a very top, A-class referee”. Robert Smith, general secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control, said: “The referee will look after both of them fairly.”

At Thursday's press conference Wardley appeared relaxed: “Surprisingly, I feel great.” Dubois said he was “feeling grounded and ready”. It is his first title defence; DAZN is broadcasting. The video shows the press conference.
