Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez says he has studied his September 2025 decision loss to Terence Crawford several times. "I've watched it like five times, and it was very close," the Mexican told The Ring's Mike Coppinger in an interview that, according to Athlon Sports, took place at Oleksandr Usyk's gym in Spain. "I know what happened and I know my mistakes."

A rematch is the fight he wants most, according to Boxing News: "I always do good in the rematches so I hope that fight happen again." Crawford retired in December 2025. "It is what it is. It is his life, his career, and I can do nothing with that," Canelo said, as quoted by Athlon Sports.

First, Canelo challenges WBC super middleweight champion Christian Mbilli on October 31 in Riyadh.
