Ubisoft plans to close its Finnish studio RedLynx. According to GameSpot, 52 employees are affected. The studio is not currently working on a new project, so closing it makes more economic sense than further downsizing. The decision is not yet final: under Finnish law, Ubisoft must first hold negotiations with employees.

RedLynx was founded in Helsinki in 2000 and acquired by Ubisoft in 2011. The studio made its name with the Trials motorbike series, the most recent entry being Trials Rising in 2019. Since then RedLynx has helped with projects including the Switch 2 port of Star Wars Outlaws. In autumn 2025 Ubisoft had already cut up to 60 jobs there and refocused the studio on mobile games.

Ubisoft is also cutting jobs in Singapore. “At Ubisoft Singapore, 70 positions have been impacted to align the studio with upcoming production needs,” GameSpot quotes from a company statement. Founded in 2008, the studio has worked on most Assassin’s Creed games and led development of Skull and Bones.
