Marks & Spencer unveiled a collaboration with British lingerie label Coco de Mer on 13 October. The collection comprises 24 pieces in four lines – Belle, Siren, Enigma and Reverie – and goes on sale on Thursday, 15 October, online and in two stores: the Pantheon on London's Oxford Street and Handforth near Manchester. According to FashionNetwork, sizes range from 30 to 42 in cups A to H as well as XS to XL, with prices between 15 and 55 pounds. The campaign is fronted by London-born model Alva Claire.
At its centre is the Reverie line, with Art Deco-inspired embroidery and emerald-green satin. Belle combines eyelash lace with satin in crimson and black, Enigma relies on embroidery and metallic accents, and Siren on floral embroidery in midnight blue. The occasion for the partnership is 100 years of fashion at M&S and Coco de Mer's 25th anniversary.
"It felt like a very natural partnership," Coco de Mer chief executive Lucy Litwack told the trade website TheIndustry.fashion. The two are "two proudly British brands" with a shared belief in beautiful lingerie, she said. The aim is to make the label's approach accessible to more women across a broader range of sizes and price points. M&S lingerie director Charlotte Davies spoke of "lingerie designed to be experienced as much as admired".
