The Paris house Schiaparelli showed its Spring/Summer 2027 ready-to-wear collection on 1 October in the basement of the Carrousel du Louvre. Creative director Daniel Roseberry titled the collection “Going Clear”, according to the business daily MF Milano Finanza. The show was staged as a private club, with a small jazz band and saxophone, candles on the tables and champagne; the paper was reminded of the Kit Kat Club from “Cabaret”.
The looks included deconstructed evening gowns whose necklines were reworked into tops and skirts, lettuce-edge hems, asymmetric openings and ruffles in leather and linen, inspired by the curtains of Elsa Schiaparelli's Place Vendôme atelier. According to MF, the palette stayed with black, bone and butter. The Schiap jacket came in eight versions, including kingfisher blue, moss green and salmon pink. Who What Wear highlights sculpturally draped low necklines, ruffles, jackets with archival embroidery and shorts ranging from micro to Bermuda length.
In his show notes, Roseberry wrote, according to Who What Wear: “We don't have a 'commercial' collection. These are the clothes.” Backstage he told MF that the distinction between ready-to-wear and couture is “not so fundamental”. Front-row guests included Tate McRae, Law Roach and Peggy Gou, according to Who What Wear. The video shows the show on the house's official channel.
