Paris Saint-Germain beat Manchester City 4-2 in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Désiré Doué scored in the 13th minute and Ousmane Dembélé added a second 99 seconds later, before Vitinha made it 3-0 in the 32nd from a Warren Zaïre-Emery flick. According to Opta, City trailed by three goals at home at halftime for the first time since January 2012.

Erling Haaland pulled one back in the 53rd minute, overtaking Sergio Agüero as City's leading Champions League scorer, but City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma's handling error on a Maghnes Akliouche shot made it 4-1. Haaland struck again in the 75th. Donnarumma later saved a penalty from PSG forward Ferran Torres, and City also hit the woodwork twice.

It was City's first Champions League game since the Premier League found the club guilty of breaching financial rules, charges the club denies. Former manager Pep Guardiola watched from the stands. "If you don't go toe-to-toe, you struggle," City manager Enzo Maresca told Sky Sports.
