Borussia Dortmund lost 1-0 at Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Fredrik Sjøvold scored in the 52nd minute from a Sondre Auklend assist. Coach Niko Kovač had overhauled his lineup after a Bundesliga draw with Werder Bremen, leaving Nmecha, Nwaneri, Sabitzer and Guirassy on the bench, while Germany defender Schlotterbeck was left out of the squad.

Dortmund improved only after falling behind and making changes, but Bodø goalkeeper Nikita Haikin made several key saves. "Until the first goal against us, we simply weren't there," Kovač told DAZN, adding of his selection: "I take that on myself too." Defender Waldemar Anton said: "That was clearly too little."

VfB Stuttgart fared better with a 3-0 win at Slovan Bratislava. Deniz Undav scored in the 29th minute, Sandro Cruz turned the ball into his own net in the 65th and Ermedin Demirović added a late third, giving Stuttgart six points from two games. Dortmund play in Berlin in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
