BMW unveiled the Concept 7 Protection on Oct. 12. The luxury sedan is based on the M760e xDrive plug-in hybrid and, according to BMW, produces a combined 450 kW (612 PS) with up to 800 Nm of torque. BMW says the armor is integrated so the sedan keeps its elegant appearance.

The car meets the new BayB standard and is designed to protect against selected handgun ammunition such as 9x19 mm and .44 Magnum. It offers no blast protection, which requires a higher protection level. That places the concept below the X5 Protection VR6 and the VR9-rated 7 Series Protection. According to paultan.org, features include an intercom and an attack alarm.

It is unclear whether the concept will go into production. BMW says its initial focus is on selected European markets. A new BMW Individual rear center console with a folding table and cool box, shown for the first time in the concept, will be available for the 7 Series from the second half of 2027.
