Bulgarian exchange power 4.63% cheaper on Tuesday at €224.59/MWh
The IBEX average price for 13 October is €224.59 per megawatt-hour excluding VAT. Night-time hours fall by 7.01%, while traded volume rises to 94,361.60 MWh.
On the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX), producers, traders and large consumers buy and sell electricity. On the day-ahead market, the price for every hour is set in an auction the day before. For Tuesday 13 October, the average price across the whole day (base) is €224.59 per megawatt-hour excluding VAT – 4.63% less than on Monday (€235.50).
During peak hours (9:00 to 20:00), when factories and offices are working, a megawatt-hour costs €229.93 on average – 2.24% less than Monday's €235.21. In the remaining hours (off-peak, 1:00–8:00 and 21:00–24:00) it costs €219.26, down 7.01%. Daytime is therefore again dearer than night-time – by €10.67, whereas on Monday the two prices were almost equal.
Traded volume is 94,361.60 MWh, about 4.97% more than on Monday (89,892.70). Of this, 51,714.77 MWh falls in peak hours and 42,646.83 MWh in the remaining hours. Prices for Wednesday 14 October will be published this afternoon.
