Asked which of the two is closer to his prime, Anthony Joshua told The Ring's Mike Coppinger: "Me. I feel fresh." His body was very strong, as was his mind, "and I ain't got much damage". He added that he could draw on more experience than "my future opponent, Tyson Fury".
Fury turned 38 in August; Joshua turns 37 on 15 October. According to The Ring, Fury has boxed 273 professional rounds, 98 more than Joshua. Joshua has won 90 per cent of his fights inside the distance, Fury 69.4 per cent. The two share six common opponents, including Oleksandr Usyk and Wladimir Klitschko.
"We have to prove that this fight will live up to the expectations of being one of the best fights in British history," Joshua said. He meets Fury on 11 December at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, live on Netflix.
